[English] #StayHome Journal Ep.1: How to help out from home

Nihongo post here

I'm sure we are all thinking there is something we could do in these unprecedented times. So along with my friend Tomoko, we collected different ways for people to support different entities from home. Some people have told me in the past that the act of donation seems hypocritical, a way of self satisfaction for the well-off to release this sense of guilt. This might be partially accurate.

I found myself writing this blog, to actually do something, to have control of something uncontrollable- I guess that is a selfish act. However, that is no more than the origin of the act of donation and what donation actually can do is, it allows people to support non-profit organizations, groups, companies that are doing something that our government cannot with taxes. So why not take the chance to financially support something you want, especially in these difficult times?

We appreciate your understanding that this is a subjective edit and is not 100% accurate.

*Please be careful as some scams pretend to be donations, and notify me if any of the below are, or if they’re inaccurate.

Thank you and stay safe.
